Elijah is the first to be born free in Buxton, Canada, a settlement for escaped slaves from America. When money is stolen from Elijah's friend to buy his family out of slavery, Elijah sets off on a risky mission to America, and discovers for himself what slavery is really like.
This is a heartwarming and realistic book about slavery, friendship and trust. I recommend this book to all historical fiction lovers! |
