My name is Josh I am currently attending High school, I felt compelled to read Enders Game, not only for grade in my English class, but to explore the different tasks Ender faced as a 6 year old army commander. my qualification to write this review was that I had a good understanding of the book and have made it through three hard years of college prep English.
Spoiler:
One part of the plot that I really disliked was at the end when Ender was involved in a incident and was ordered to helped wipe out a whole life form, and later felt guilty for his achievement. One second he is a hero next he is a murderer.
This author has a unique style of writing, like in a lot of his books Card uses his religion to play a role in the book's plot , as the plot thickens some of the characters including Ender change drastically. Also before every chapter Card will have a paragraph in a different font this shows the different characters having a conversation so Heads up.
Ender is always using the statement “I am just like Peter”, this is Ender's greatest fear as the book progresses he becomes more and more like Peter, later Peter changes his ways to pursue a more tolerant life, I felt this bit of irony makes the book a lot more enjoyable to the reader.
I recommend this book to anyone with a vivid imagination, and have a interest for intergalactic warfare, anyone who gets uncomfortable when there is crotch kicking and preteens shooting one another with freeze guns I recommend you stay away from this book. This book also tends to get violent at some parts so I warn you now.
