hehe. this is the funniest sci-fi book i have ever read. i mean come on. a boy genius and technologically advanced fairies working together? what are the odds?
Still, the plot just... works. everything makes sense: the language, the humor, the idiocracy of the bad guys, and above all, the message. A message of global warming and about man's careless ways.
Eoin Colfer is the king of humor. This is my favorite quote from the book: "One foot. If there was so much as one foot sticking out, we could be all over the Internet by tomorrow. Holly, why do you do this to me?"
There has to be a hundred more funny episodes and delightful sarcasm of Artemis Fowl.
I would encourage this book to anyone who loves fantasy and sc-fi combined. There is both magic and fantasy being, and of course, scientifically advanced sci-fi features. |
